Whenever Tyler found herself under that tree during the summertime, she knew she had gotten herself into a predicament. Whether her blue-green eyes were wet with tears or dilated from the excitement of her adventures, she wandered back to the scraggly age-old tree in the far corners of her domain. The mahogany shade of her tree matched the color of her hair; as if they developed their hue together in the same fashion that older couples begin to look alike after years together. Because Tyler was used to climbing the tree up to the nook in the branches, allowing for a nice spot for her to nest, she was a strong girl; naturally thin and athletic. From her nook, she could dangle her commonly bare feet and admire the infinite landscape stretching ahead of her.
Summertime was halfway gone, and Tyler meandered back to her tree after a long night at five AM just in time to catch the dawning sun. Tyler didn't get in trouble. She had good grades, was involved in the church and extracurricular activities- but she could always find a new exciting venture to partake in. They recalled the previous evening's antics, originating with the late night milkshake run, occurring on a whim. While she had never brought another person to the tree, her friend from that night accompanied her that morning. Why she had such a change of heart concerning her secret hideaway, she did not understand, and he didn't understand the significance of his presence. Being her friend since the fourth grade was good enough reasoning for her at that point.
